Renaming multiple requirements: running number ("middle") not correct

Fix versions

Priority

Description

I pick three requirements I want to rename:

I click rename and come to this screen:

I want to rename it from "DWH-ATT-" to "J-BL-", but the middle number part does not react to the next available number of "J-BL-":

So at the moment, the "rename multiple" feature is not useable for me, as it would mean having big gaps in the "J-BL-" numbering.

Hi Adrien, but without renumbering the requirements, the feature for me loses all value. At least for us, we want to have increasing numbers for all the prefixes (“DWH-ATT-”), (“J-BL-”). So if I rename requirements from “DWH-ATT-” to “J-BL-”, I don’t want to have “holes” or overlaps in the “J-BL” numbering.

I understand that it’s rather complex to propose the next available number; maybe a compromise would be to also make the “middle” part editable, so that I can at least manually make sure I have consistent numbering?

Hi Michael,

That's correct, this feature is not designed to renumber the requirements. I can't add this feature on the planning at the moment, I'm sorry.

Best regards,
Adrien
